Annual General Meeting
Will take place on Sunday May 1st. 2022 commencing at 2.00pm
Via“Zoom” Conference Call.
As per our constitution rule 3 Committee & Management of the Association.

a) The management of the Association shall be in the hands of the following Officers of the Association:
A President, an Hon. Secretary, an Hon Treasurer and a committee consisting of 12 members, of whom one third shall retire annually on a 3-year rotation.

President – Vacant
Hon Secretary – Mrs Susan Hanson. Sue Hanson is not due to retire at this time.
Hon Treasurer – Mrs. Ruth Webster in not due to retire at this time, .

Current committee comprises:
Di. Arrowsmith Tony Betambeau, (Committee Chair) Michele Day *, Alex Friar ,Helen Gore*, Corinna Hansford, Andy Robins* , Jenny Spillane Mark Taylor.

Di Arrowsmith has decided to retire from committee at this juncture. Those marked * are due to retire at this time. Michele Day, Helen Gore and Andy Robins are willing to stand for re-election. There are, therefore, 5
vacant committee places. Four for a three year and one for a one for a one year term of office.

Nomination papers for committee vacancies can be obtained from the Hon. Secretary, Mrs Susan Hanson email addresses below.

Completed nomination papers should be in the hands of the Hon. Secretary not later than Monday 4th April. Resolutions for the Agenda must be in the hands of the Hon. Secretary not later than Monday 4th April 2022.

Members whose subscription remains unpaid on 1st March 2021 are deemed to be lapsed and are not entitled to
the privileges of membership. His/her name shall be automatically erased from the register.

As per our constitution rule 13 VOTING AT GENERAL MEETINGS.
Each honorary life member and ordinary member present at a general meeting shall be entitled to one vote on
each motion, except for the chairman of the meeting who shall have a casting vote only.

A member shall be entitled to a postal vote for Officer and Committee places only, provided they apply in writing to the Secretary for a postal ballot at least 28 days prior to the Annual General Meeting.

Dogs will be assessed at the end of the day, and those considered worthy will be graded;

EXCELLENT, VERY GOOD or GOOD.

Dogs will be run singly into wind for a minimum of 10 minutes. They will be allowed one minute to settle down. Priority will be given to game finding and therefore natural working ability will be credited before steadiness. No dog will be eliminated unless out of control.

A 4×4 vehicle is needed to get onto the moor so please make sure you can buddy up with someone if you don’t have one.

Please be aware that this moor is quite tough walking so good fitness is required.

WORKING GUNDOG TRAINING WITH STEVIE ALLERTON & STEVE ROBSON – 2022

ABOUT YOUR TRAINER

Candidates will work on hunting practice, steadiness, and the development of retrieving skills in woodland as well as more open ground, under the supervision of trainers who have been involved with the working and training of HPR breeds over many years. DETAILS OF THE TRAINING DAYS

These days will be for a maximum of 8 dogs. The day will be most suitable for novice dogs & handlers and those just starting out with their training regime and/or problem solving. Directions will be provided to applicants after entries have closed.

 

Government Covid protocols applicable to each date will apply.  This will be a very full and social day. You will be responsible for your own refreshments, food, water and towels for your dog. Please bring all relevant training aids, hand sanitizer, gloves and masks if pertinent.

In the case of over subscription priority will be given to members and then to novice handlers and young dogs.

  • Please email completed forms to the address below.
  • Upon notification of acceptance to the training day, successful candidates will pay the fee by bank transfer. HPRGA bank details will be forwarded.
  • In the event of an over subscription a draw will be held. All applicants will be notified by email. Any over subscription will form a reserve list. If the fee is not paid within 36 hours of notification, the next person on the reserve list will be offered the place.
  • If anyone must pull out at short notice, for a genuine reason, the training day co-ordinator will do their best to fill the place, if successful your fee will be returned. If there is insufficient notice, or we are unable to fill the place for any other reason the fee will be forfeit.

Matt Ball Working Gundog Training dates 2022

ABOUT YOUR TRAINER

Matt’s career with dog training began in 1986 training gundogs, predominantly HPRs with his stepfather (Trevor Rigby). He has field trialled HPRs to a high standard qualifying full champions in GSPs, and winning many FT awards with GWPs, HVs, GSPs and GLPs. He then joined the RAVC (Royal Army Veterinary Corps) in 1997 travelling the world to train both people and dogs. Matt’s passion has always been in HPRs and trains with a positive approach, focussing mostly on the handler where most issues tend to arise. The initial days will be most suitable for Novice dogs & handlers and those just starting out with their training regime and/or problem solving.  Later dates will be for the more advanced dogs and handlers going forward, as well as addressing any difficulties.

 

Government Covid protocols applicable to each date will apply.  This will be a very full and social day. You will be responsible for your own refreshments, food, water and towels for your dog. Please bring all relevant training aids, hand sanitizer, gloves and masks if pertinent.

RORY MAJOR-2022 WORKING GUNDOG TRAINING

DETAILS OF THE TRAINING DAYS

ABOUT YOUR TRAINER Rory is a very successful owner and trainer of many breeds of gundogs. He has successfully competed with German Wirehaired Pointers, Brittanys, Hungarian Wirehaired Vizlas, Vizslas, Large Munsterlanders, German Shorthaired Pointers and Italian Spinone’s.  To date making up 9 Field Trial Champions (4 GWPs, 3 Brittanys, 1 Large Munsterlander and 1 HWV ) and won the HPR Championship in 2021. He regularly picks up with a team of Labrador’s, HPRs and Spaniels. Open Trial

Our first Open HPR Field Trial is being held in Hawkhurst Kent on the 14th January 2022. We look forward to welcoming all entrants and thank everyone who supported and enabled us to gain Open status.

Entries for this trial are NOT on Fossedata, entries should be sent to the FT Secretary via email only. All Entries over email will be acknowledged via reply. Entries should be emailed to ft_secretary @hprga.co.uk

Payment will be requested via BACs after the draw has taken place with instructions on how to do so when the running list is emailed.

Please note that all entrants successful in the draw must provide a signed HPRGA Covid Confirmation Agreement Form sent directly to the FT Secretary.

Open show 2021
Show

Please note the following entry figures for our upcoming show on 21st November. Bracco 6, Brittany 16, GSP 29, GWP 3, Vizsla 18, WH Vizsla 18, Spinone 13, Munsterlander 17, Weimaraner 18, Import Register 8.

First in Ring 1 will be Vizsla followed by Weimaraners, Ring 2 Brittany followed by Munsterlanders, Ring 3 GSP followed by WH Vizsla. Other breeds will be allocated as & when rings become free. HPRGA regret that there will be no catering at the venue only drinks from a vending machine, this is beyond our control. We look forward to seeing you all and thank you for the splendid entry numbers.

There will also be a raffle, if you have anything you can kindly donate for the draw, Bring it along on the day.  

A date for your diary!  We’re thrilled to be holding our Open show this year despite the challenges. Fabulous judges, always a great atmosphere and prizes to boot.
