“Become a team to be reckoned with!”

Russell has over 40 years’ experience in showing dogs as owner, handler, and judge. He awards CC’s in 19 breeds, 18 being Gundogs and judges all over the UK, Ireland, Holland, and Finland. He judged at Crufts in 2018 and will again in 2022. Russell’s experience and skill have seen him achieve Show Champions/Champions in 3 breeds; Gordon Setters, Field Spaniels, Pointers and CC’s and Res CC’s in another 3 breeds Sussex Spaniels, Hungarian Vizsla and Rhodesian Ridgebacks. His success includes Best of Breed at Crufts in 1996 in Field Spaniels including an amazing sweep of Dog CC & BOB, Res Dog CC and Res Bitch CC in the same year as well as Group 2 and Group 3 places at Championship Shows. Education, Working

These days will be for a maximum of 6 dogs. The day will be most suitable for Novice dogs & handlers and those just starting out with their training regime and/or problem solving.    it will also be useful for more experienced people as all dogs will be given the opportunity to hunt, point and retrieve from land and water, on excellent ground under the supervision of an HPR handler with vast experience across the breeds.  For those people who don’t know Rory his website is here and will give you an insight into his experience and success in field trials.

Government Covid protocols applicable to each date will apply.  This will be a very full and social day. You will be responsible for your own refreshments, food, water and towels for your dog. Please bring all relevant training aids, hand sanitizer, gloves and masks if pertinent.

In the case of over subscription priority will be given to members and then to novice handlers and young dogs.

  • Please email completed forms to the address below.
  • Upon notification of acceptance to the training day, successful candidates will pay the fee by bank transfer. HPRGA bank details will be forwarded.
  • In the event of an over subscription a draw will be held. All applicants will be notified by email. Any over subscription will form a reserve list. If the fee is not paid within 36 hours of notification, the next person on the reserve list will be offered the place.
  • If anyone has to pull out at short notice, for a genuine reason, I will do my best to fill the place, if I am successful your fee will be returned. If there is insufficient notice, or I am unable to fill the place for any other reason the fee will be forfeit.
